Janet Copertino LaMonica, 98, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 16, 2013, at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. She was the wife of the late Anthony Copertino and John LaMonica.
Mrs. LaMonica was born in Williamsport, PA on June 27, 1915, daughter of the late Philip and Alesandrina Sinabaldi Giacomi.
A resident of Ansonia since 1969, she was devoted to her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
She is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Camille Copertino of Ansonia, grandchildren, Richard Drost Jr. (Jennifer) of MA and Linda Drost of Ansonia, great-grandchildren, Julia, Anna, Erik and Sophia Drost and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Chester Giacomi and sisters, Timperia Lehman, Ida Noble, Louise Rolando and Mary Mileto.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2013, from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, her funeral will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
