Philomena Sabetta, 96, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2014, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis S. Sabetta.
Mrs. Sabetta was born in Ansonia on January 12, 1918, daughter of the late Michael and Virginia Vicidomino Giraldi. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, she also enjoyed the three years she spent living with her daughter Rita in The Villages, FL.
Philomena was the International Sales manager for the former Seal Laminating Products in Derby.
She focused her life around family, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and was a devoted communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Hyde (Thomas) of Ansonia, Virginia Sobolisky of Oxford and Rita Segnatelli (Paul) of The Villages, FL, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Frank and Peter Giraldi and sisters, Roseann Kunzik, Madeline Semersky and Louise Burgette.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 15, 2014, at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia on Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the procession leaves for church.
