Peter J. Casine, Jr., age 71, of Dayville, formerly of Derby, entered into rest on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam with his loving family by his side. He is the devoted husband of 50 years to Patricia (MvEvoy) Casine.
Peter was born in Derby, on Jan. 22, 1943, son of the late Peter J. and Rose (Cirillo) Casine.
He was a supervisor at Uniroyal for many years until his retirement. Peter was a former member of the National Guard and the Charter Hose Company 4.
He loved being around his family and friends, but most of all, Peter cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
He is the beloved father of Peter J. Casine, III and his wife Susan, Paul Casine and his wife Deborah and Patric Casine, brother of, James Casine, Rosemary Casine and Anita Tarini. Peter is the loving grandfather of Carly, Jenna, Taylor, Petey and Evan.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine O’Donnell and Margaret Casine.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Thursday, Nov. 20, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Derby.
