Obituary: Attorino J. “Reno” Barone, 98, of Ansonia

Attorino J. “Reno” Barone, 98, of Ansonia, retired Superintendent of Public Works, owner of the former Venice Restaurant, Twin Keg’s Restaurant, Fred’s Bar and Barone’s Restaurant, died May 31, at home.

Survived by his wife, Carmella Culmo Barone, a son, daughter, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Manhattan, N.Y.; U.S. Army World War II veteran, served under General George Patton, awarded Bronze Star.

Predeceased by parents, Phillipe Barone and Antoniette Segnatelli, a son, grandson, and three sisters.

Visiting hours: Wednesday June 3, 5-8 p.m., SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, his funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
