David J. Reed Sr., 69, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 28, 2015, at CT Hospice in Branford.
David was born in Bridgeport on October 10, 1946, son of the late Irving F. Reed Sr. and Margaret Kamerer Reed. A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he was most recently employed as a security guard at the United Methodist Home in Shelton until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by a loving son, David J. Reed Jr. and his wife Amy of Derby, brothers, Irving F. Reed Jr. and Gary D. Reed of Ansonia, grandchildren, Tristen Connell of FL and Zachary and Connor Reed of Derby. He was predeceased by a daughter, Danielle Reed and a sister, Donna Smith.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
