Elizabeth Wheeler, a 96 year old Derby resident and widow of John S. Wheeler, passed away January 16.
She was born Nov. 13, 1917 in New Haven, daughter of the late William & Bessie Cloughessy.
She was a graduate of Derby High School & the former Ansonia Business College and worked in the Payroll Dept. for Farrel Corp. in Ansonia. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of The Griffin Hospital auxiliary and longtime Griffin volunteer worker, member of The Derby Senior Center and member of The First Congregational Church in Derby.
She is survived by her dear friend, Jean Barkley of Ansonia.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Helen Jenks.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 11:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
