Theodora J. Zavednak, 98, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2016, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John Zavednak Sr.
Mrs. Zavednak was born in Derby on December 15, 1917, daughter of the late Michael and Victoria Gutrick.
She was a resident of Oxford prior to moving to Derby in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Jude Church in Derby and enjoyed trips to Colorado, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Michael Zavednak (Doreen) of Berthoud, CO, daughters, Janice B. Lenehan of Derby and Carol Howard of Oxford, cherished grandchildren, Peter Zavednak (Angel), Paul Zavednak and Nanette Ammon (John) of CO, Jay Lenehan (Rebecca) of TX, Jennifer Karpovich (Jason) of Seymour, Richard Zavednak (Dawn) of Wolcott and James Zavednak of Naugatuck, 9 great-grandchildren, sister- in- law, Evelyn Zavednak of Derby and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, John Zavednak Jr., a daughter, Barbara Zavednak and son in laws, Wayne Howard and Richard Lenehan.
Private funeral services will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church in Derby. Interment will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery in Seymour.
