The Rev. Richard York Yerrington, 85, of Beacon Falls, chaplain of the United Methodist Homes of Shelton, interim pastor of the Trumbull Congregational Church, most recently served as associate pastor of the Newtown U.M.C., husband of Penelope White Yerrington, died Jan. 15, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born Oct. 30, 1930, in Hartford, son of Charles B. and Lillian Y. Yerrington; U.S. Army Reserves.
Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Matthew B. (Kimberly) Yerrington of Beacon Falls, Adam H. (Amy D’Amaro) Yerrington of Shelton, Sarah L. (Lee) Porter of Maryland; and six grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, Jan. 30, 3 p.m., Golden Hill United Methodist Church, 210 Elm St., Bridgeport. Family will greet visitors before the service and a reception will follow.
