Obituary: Bernard E. Beres, 93, of Seymour

Bernard E. Beres, 93, of Seymour, husband of the late Helen Sabo Beres, died March 18, at the West Haven VA Medical Center.

Born in Northampton, Mass. on Sept. 15, 1922, he was the son of the late Martin and Blanche Golembiesky Beres; U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; worked as a machinist and model maker for the Farrel, Sikorsky, and Gillette companies and retired from Bic Pen Corp. following 25 years of employment.

Survived by his children, Paul (Nancy) Beres of Seymour and Bernadette (David) Glass of Idaho; grandchildren, Kimberly (Blake) MacKinney of Oxford, Erica (Jason) Schoerner of Florida, Jessica Ledbetter of Idaho and Amanda (Christopher) Drake of Idaho, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and his companion and her family, Jane Randall of Shelton.

Also predeceased by sisters, Helen Husti, Mary Markut, Genevieve Vitali; and great-grandson Silar Swallow.

Services: Wednesday, March 23, noon, Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Visiting hours: 10-noon, prior to the service.
