Bernice V. Lemachko, 88, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2016, at Griffin Hospital.
Mrs. Lemachko was born in Stratford on April 25, 1928, daughter of the late Carl E. and Bernice Dunlap Peterson.
A resident of Ansonia since 1979, she was employed at The Manufacturing Box in Bridgeport and later Hershey Metal Products in Ansonia until her retirement. Bernice lived for her children and grandchildren.
She was a volunteer at Griffin Hospital and enjoyed puzzles, knitting and especially watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by a loving son, John W. Lemachko of Seymour, a loving daughter, Janice L. Hugya and her husband David of Ansonia, sisters, Alice Dolega (Gene) of Trumbull and Shirley Tuscano of Middletown, cherished grandchildren, Kara Hugya of Naugatuck, Justin Hugya and Kristin Lemachko of Ansonia, Jamie Leo (Jeremy) of Missouri and Danielle and Jessica Lemachko of Seymour, great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Lemachko, Grayson and Savannah Leo and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Max E. Lemachko and a brother, William Peterson.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 16, 2016, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 6:30 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Bernice’s life will take place. Inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
