Carl Anthony Rossetti, 75, of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Carol Francisco Rossetti entered into rest on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born in New Haven, on July 10, 1938, the son of the late Carlo and Concetta Coppola Rossetti. He was a 47 year resident of Seymour.

Carl worked for The Stop & Shop Warehouse in North Haven for 33 years until his retirement in 1995. He served in the United States Army with pride during Peacetime.

Carl enjoyed his amateur radio hobby and being with his family and grandchildren.

Carl’s loving family includes his two devoted sons Ronald M. Rossetti and his wife Laurie and Paul A. Rossetti and his wife Jacqueline all of Seymour, his four cherished grandchildren Cassandra, Matthew, Gabrielle and Michael.

A Private Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Mountain Meadows Cemetery , Seymour with the Rev. Honore Kombo, Pastor of St. Augustine Church, Seymour, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Carl’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, through the funeral home.

Ann Elsie Falbo

Ann Elsie Falbo, 89, of Seymour CT, the beloved wife of the late John R. Falbo passed peacefully from this world surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 27, 2014 after a brief illness at Griffin Hospital, Derby.

Ann was born in West Hartford,CT on June 2, 1924 the daughter of the late John and Helen Makonis Garcia.

Ann survived the Great Depression and married her husband John right after WWII. She was a devout communicant of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Ann was a retired Sales Clerk having worked for Kings Department Store and then Ames Department Store of Seymour.

Ann loved to dance and go RV camping with her husband John. When Ann reached retirement she fulfilled her lifelong dream of working in healthcare. She was a 30-year volunteer at Griffin Hospital in the Same Day Surgery Unit and always had a good word and a smile for everyone. She was loved and will be sorely missed by both family and friends.

Ann’s loving family includes her two devoted daughters, Lynn Miller of New Port Richey, FL and Joyce Falbo of Watertown, CT. Ann is also survived by many nephews and nieces who she loved dearly Robert Falbo ( Weslie ), MaryJo MacDonald ( Richard ), Jolynn Van Wart ( David ), Maryann Kowalsky ( Donald ), Ralph Falbo ( Margaret ), Marie Criscuolo (Joseph ). She will be missed by her best friend Dolores Popowski and daughter Terri.

Ann was predeceased by Samuel Falbo, Ralph Falbo Sr., Rosemary Immaculato, Richard Falbo.

A Funeral Service in Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 30 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in Ann’s memory may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd Improvement Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.

Beulah R. “Pete” Merritt, 78, of Naugatuck, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2014, at Griffin Hospital.

Mrs. Merritt was born in Stamford on December 1, 1935, daughter of the late Francis and Claire Atkinson Dyer.

She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, tag sales and playing bingo.

She is survived by five sons, Donald Graham of FL, David Graham of NV, Kevin Graham of Southbury, Howard Merritt of Ansonia and Tracy Merritt of NV, a daughter, Coleen Weber of FL, a brother, Richard Dyer of FL, two sisters, Joan Nutting of Bethel and Arline Dick of MD, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting will take place on Wednesday April 30, 2014, from 5-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Pete’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Burial will be private.

Antoinette Mary Magda Farrell, 94, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of the late George W. Farrell, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at West River Health Care Center of Milford.

Antoinette was born in Beacon Falls on May 2, 1919 the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Rose Dutkowska Magda.

Antoinette was a devout communicant of St. Anthony’s Church of Ansonia. Antoinette was a retired bookkeeper for Palmer Brothers Moving Company of Ansonia and Custom Cable of Seymour. She was an avid homemaker and also loved cooking.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will remain forever in our hearts.

Her loving family includes her caring son Richard Farrell and his wife Sharyn of Adena,Ohio and her devoted daughter Linda Farrell of West Haven, two loving sisters Edna Manning of Cleveland, Ohio and Sophie Martin of Derby, three cherished grandsons Greg Pilloise, Shayne Pilloise and Glenn Spamer Jr., also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers Joseph, Walter, Edward and John Magda

A Funeral Service in Celebration of Antoinette’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour, with the Reverend Stephen Krugel, officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the start of the service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Louis T. Velleco Sr., 88, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2014, in his home. He was the beloved husband of almost 65 years to Lovie Spak Velleco.

Mr. Velleco was born in Derby on Jan. 28, 1926, son of the late John and Elsie Velleco.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he honorably served during WW II. He was employed as a meat cutter at the former A & P Supermarket for 45 years until his retirement.

Lou was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Shelton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William J. Velleco of Ansonia and Joseph R. Velleco of Durham, grandchildren, Louis T. Velleco III, Denise Velleco and Nicholas Velleco, daughter in law, Risa Velleco of Seymour and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Louis T. Velleco Jr., brothers, Peter, Vincent and John Velleco and sisters Mary Lombardi, Josephine Johnson and Julia Landona.

His funeral service will take place on Sunday May 4, 2014, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St., in Ansonia with Rev. Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating. Visiting hours will take place following the service until 3:00 pm, at which time U.S. Navy military honors will be accorded. Interment will be private.

Joseph P. Samoker

Joseph P. Samoker, 99 & 8 months, of Southbury, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, April 27, 2014, with his loving daughter by his side. The beloved husband of 61 years to the late Marion Miles Samoker.

He was born in Seymour on September 5, 1914 to his parents Stanley J. and Josephine Mazorkiwich Samoker. He and his wife resided in Oxford for many years before moving to Woodbury.

Joe, as everyone called him, worked at the Naugatuck Chemical in the shipping and packaging department until his retirement in 1967. He loved his “Dolly” wife most of all. Cherished his cars and his red motorcycle and always polished them to a bright shine. He loved nature and he also enjoyed fishing in his earlier years.

Joe will be remembered for his unique sense of humor which was usually off color. His favorite saying was the first hundred years are the hardest.

Besides his daughter, Marion (Becky) Beardsley and her husband John (Jack), he is survived by six caring grandchildren Denise Amundson and her husband Martin, Jonathan M. Beardsley and his wife Danielle, David W. Samoker and his wife Allison, Dana T. Beardsley and his wife Tara, Hannah R. Polvere and her husband John and Danielle Samoker. He also leaves ten cherished great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, David W. Samoker, three brothers Stanley, Benjamin and Thomas, and two sisters, Helen and Bertha Samoker.

A Memorial Service will be held in his memory at a later date. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour is in charge of the arrangements.

Amber Jean Scarpulla, 20, of Seymour, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2014, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Amber was born in Bridgeport on June 3, 1993, beloved daughter of Mark Scarpulla (Kathi) of Seymour and Jennifer Norton McKay of Tennessee.

She was a graduate of the High School in the Community in New Haven in 2012.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Mark Scarpulla Jr. and Ryan Scarpulla of Seymour, three sisters, Alicia Olynciw of Ansonia, Kimberly Olynciw and Amanda Scarpulla of Seymour, maternal grandfather, John Norton of CA, 2 nieces, Emma Migani and Natalee Scarpulla of Seymour, a nephew, Kanye Tinney of Ansonia and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by a sister, Alicia Scarpulla, paternal grandparents, Michael and Jean Scarpulla and maternal grandmother, Patricia Norton.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday morning, May 6, 2014, from 9 to 11:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 11:00 am, Amber’s funeral service in celebration of her life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Riverside Cemetery in Oxford.

Marie Vinceza Smith

Marie Vinceza Smith, age 83, of Derby, entered into rest on Friday May 2, 2014 in St. Mary Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late David Milton Smith, who was a decorated ArmyCorpMan of the Korean War.

Marie was born in Derby on October 30, 1931, daughter of the late James and Mary (Velleco) Pitney and was a proud lifelong Derby resident.

She was a Nurse who was employed for over 45 years until her retirement.

Marie was the HNIC and very instrumental in helping to annually organize the Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade and was the secretary of that committee for many years. She was a former second chair Eastern Star King Hiram Lodge.

She is the beloved mother of Mary Porter and her husband Michael, loving grandmother of Edward, Alexis, Christopher, Sean, Joshua, Ashley and step grandmother of Celeste and also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant son David Smith, Jr.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 1 pm in the First Congregational Church of Derby, 137 Derby Ave. Derby.

Friends may call on Tuesday following the service from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby.

Patricia Orzechowski, 71, a Valley resident for 50 years, died May 5, 2014, at CT Hospice in Branford.

She was born in Fort Erie, Canada.

She drove school buses and for the Valley transit for most of her adult life.

We wish to thank DaVita Dialysis center and Branford hospice for her loving care.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice Fitmorris and her husband, Duane Fitzmorris; her daughters, daughters, Cynthia Hart and Elizabeth Orzechowski; five grandsons, Sean Anderson, Andrew Fitzmorris, Michael Hart, Matthew Hart and Skylar Sperling; and friends, Barbara Parks, Maggie Siebert and Pat Donjia.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Cizanckas and her second husband, Conrad Orzechowski.

Services were private.

Eve was the wife of the late Joseph F. Dorsio of Derby.

Beloved mother of Frank Dorsio and his wife Shelley of Derby, Denise Donofrio and her husband Philip of Oxford, Rosemary Dorsio of Durham and Donna Dorsio of New Haven County. She is the loving grandmother of Joseph Dorsio and his wife Lisa of Bristol, Melanie Anderson and her husband Eric of Derby, Robin Cusano and her husband Brian of Seymour, Dean Dorsio and his wife Susan of Derby, Michelle Allen and her husband Howard of Southbury, Hope Capaso and her husband Ralph of Shelton, Danielle Mazzola and her husband Chris of Tolland and Deanna Scozzari and her fiance’ Sam Kilbourn of Durham. She is the great grandmother of 17. She was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters.

Eve devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and volunteered for 20 years at Griffin Hospital Gift Shop.

Elinor M. Lovegrove, age 97, wife of the late John W. Lovegrove, formerly of Seymour and a resident at Gardner Heights in Shelton, passed away May 4, 2014.

She was born May 31, 1916 in Los Angeles, CA, daughter of the late Joseph & Mayflower Flood Powelson.

She attended the Art Institute of Chicago where she met the love of her life John, and they married April 15, 1939.

She was an accomplished artist and sculptor producing a number of plaques of renowned golfers that are on display at the Golf Hall of Fame at Hilton Head. She was engaged to restore the historic Newsboy statue located in Great Barrington, MA. She worked as a freelance sculptor for Medallic Art of Danbury producing a number of medals including a Gov. Ella Grasso commemorative medal and for International Silver Company.

She is survived by her son Michael Lovegrove of Ocala, FL., & Glynis Powanda & her husband William of Seymour, grandchildren Matthew Powanda (and his wife Gloria) of Prospect and Christopher Powanda (and his wife Aja) of Waterbury and great grandchildren Zachary, Joshua & Farren Powanda, Michelle Jean Lovegrove & Travis & Scott Lovegrove.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held May 31st at 10:00 a.m. on her 98th birthday at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Anthony V. Sicsico, a 45 year old resident of Ansonia passed away at home May 7.

He was born Jan. 6, 1969 in Bridgeport, CT, son of Lois Wildman of Ansonia and the late Anthony V. Sicsico Sr.

In addition to his devoted mother Lois, he leaves to cherish his memory his loving brother Robert, sister-in-law Donna, and their children of Bridgeport, and his dear aunts & uncles Shirley & Jack Tecci, Robert & Mel Baden & their families.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his maternal & paternal grandparents.

Lawrence S. Dorosh

Lawrence “Larry” “Uncs” S. Dorosh, age 88 of Derby, died peacefully on May 8, 2014, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Sturges, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Schlachta Dorosh. Mr. Dorosh was raised in Sturges, PA, and graduated from the Archbald High School. In the 1940s Mr. Dorosh moved to CT and has since been a resident of Ansonia and Derby.

He was a proud and decorated U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Mr. Dorosh served in the Underwater Demolition Team #25 as frogman during the Normandy Invasion and also served in duty stations NTS Sampson, NY, NAAB Salcombe, Devon, England, 7th Beach Battalion, Naval Combat Demolition Training and Experimental Base, Maui, HI. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Navy Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Stars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

Mr. Dorosh was a member of the American Legion, Post 10 of Seymour, the VFW, Post 45 of Bridgeport and was a Communicant of St. Michael Church, Derby. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Dorosh worked as a foreman for the American Brass Co., previously employed by the B.F. Goodrich Co.

He is survived by his beloved brother, Adolf “Mizue” Dorosh of Derby; devoted niece and nephews, Diane (Jeffrey) Lawlor of Ansonia, Dennis Kisyk of Naugatuck, John (Kristen) Dorosh of Oxford and Greg (Lisa) Dorosh of Seymour; as well as many other nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Kisyk and brothers, John, Stephen, Stanley and Leonard Dorosh.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 8:30 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 9:30 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment with Military Honors will be held on May 13, 2014 in St. Michael Cemetery, Blakely, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

William Mitchell, age 82 of Ansonia, passed away May 7, 2014 in the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 52 years to Patricia (Walsh) Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Ansonia, October 12, 1931, son of the late John Mitchell Sr. and Jessie (McQueen) Mitchell.

William served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War and worked as a machinist for Ansonia Copper & Brass for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Norwood Athletic Club of Ansonia, the VFW Post 5405 of Winter Springs, FL, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Seminole County Aerie #4449 of Winter Springs, FL.

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Tricia Mitchell-Morse and her husband Steve of Tolland, and Tracy Mitchell of Milford; his granddaughters, Kellie, Kerrie, and Katie Morse of Tolland; his brothers, James Mitchell of Monroe, and George Mitchell of Ansonia; his sisters, Jessie Martonak of Ansonia, and Margaret Soldra of Ansonia; his faithful grand dog, Casey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, John Mitchell Jr.; and sister, Ann Snodgrass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM meeting DIRECTLY at the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 PM in the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton.

Samuel Gianpoalo, 85, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on May 9, 2014, at Hewitt Health Care in Shelton. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Pucci Gianpoalo and Marion Donofrio Gianpoalo.

Mr. Gianpoalo was born in Derby on January 26, 1929, son of the late Paul and Gelsomina DeGregoria Gianpoalo.

A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he was employed at United Shoe in Shelton and Stop & Shop in Ansonia until his retirement. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he honorably served during the Korean Conflict. Sam led the Starlighters Band for many years and enjoyed playing horseshoes, golf and bowling.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Herman of Terryville, a son, Samuel Gianpoalo of NY, grandchildren, Donna Lane of Terryville, Marissa Baird of Las Vegas, NV, Samuel Gianpoalo III and Steven Gianpoalo of Enfield and Jesse Gianpoalo of NY, great-grandchildren, Anthony and Haley Lane, Madison and Aubrey Baird, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and Anthony Gianpoalo and sisters, Loretta Clifford, Victoria “Dolly” Clifford and Ann Muli.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2014, from 5-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, his funeral will be held at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Brian F. Charney, 48, beloved husband of Michele Smith Charney of Stratford, died suddenly on May 5, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport on September 17, 1965, he was the son of Frank and Irene Mason Charney of Stratford.

Mr. Charney was a lifelong Stratford resident and 1983 Graduate of Bunnell High School. He worked as an independent painting contractor for many years and also worked for several painting contractors until the time of his illness.

He was an avid reader; enjoyed golf, fishing, tennis and was a loyal fan of the NY Rangers.

He will be remembered as a devoted father and loving husband, fortunate to have celebrated his 28th wedding anniversary on May 3, 2014.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his cherished son, Alex C. Charney of Stratford; sister, Karen (Terry) McIlhoney of Oxford; brothers, Craig (Kim) Charney of TX and Gary Charney of Stratford; sister-in-law, Danielle Smith of Stratford and brother-in-law, Jaime (Lizz) Smith of Derby; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Meeting Directly At Church, will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 10:00 AM in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.

Lori Marie (Jackson) Gellatly

Lori Marie (Jackson) Gellatly, age 32, of Oxford, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Oxford.

She was born on September 13, 1981 in New Haven and was the daughter of Douglas and Merry (Tripp) Jackson of Oxford.

Lori was an air bureau analyst for the State of CT, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Her greatest joy was being a devoted mother to her children. She was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church.

In addition to her parents, Lori leaves her twins, Noah and Lilli, her brother, John Jackson and his wife, Linda, her sister, Kacey and her husband David, her niece/goddaughter, and several aunts and uncles.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Lori’s life will be held on Friday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seymour Congregational Church, 45 Broad Street, Seymour. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. directly at the Seymour Congregational Church.

Joseph M. Miller Jr.

Joseph M. Miller Jr., 76, of Ansonia, died on Tuesday, May 20. He was the husband of the late Gail Kilbride Miller.

Joseph was born in New Haven on July 6, 1937, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Helen Foley Miller.

Joseph was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, West Haven, class of 1955, and earned his BS and MBA degrees from The University of New Haven.

Joseph served his country with distinction in The United States Army as a military police officer in Germany. He spent several decades as a bank executive and retired as Comptroller for the City of Ansonia in September, 2012.

Joseph was active in his childrens’ sports teams as a fan, coach and Commissioner of the Ansonia Girl’s Softball League.

Survivors are children Joseph (Catherine) Miller of Madison, John (Lisa) Miller of Orange, Ellen (Seth) Dworken of Milford, Anne (Daniel) Lynch of Ansonia, and Timothy Miller and fiance, Amanda Crenshaw of Hamden; his sister, Marjorie Clemens (Richard Gross) of Rocky Hill; and his grandchildren, Grace Riggio, Maeve, Flynn and Sloan Miller, Ryan and Justin Miller, Brendan and Molly Lynch, and Patrick Miller; his sister-in-law, Sr. Anne Kilbride, O.P.; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, William and James Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, at 9:30 a.m. in The Church of the Assumption, 61 No. Cliff Street, Ansonia, CT 06401. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven, CT. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 23, from 4-8 p.m. in the John T. Bennett Funeral Home, 91 No. Cliff Street.

Frances Irene Oczkowski

Frances Irene Oczkowski, 88, formerly of Nichols St. Ansonia, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.

Frances was born in Seymour on June 11, 1925, daughter of the late Andrew Oczkowski and Felicia Weslowski Oczkowski.

She attended school in Seymour and then devoted her life to the care of her family. Frances was a communicant of St. Augustine Church.

She was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed gardening and ensuring that the neighborhood birds and squirrels were always well fed. She was a devoted Grandmother who treasured every opportunity to help with child care. Frances was affectionately given the nickname of “Porky”. She enjoyed trying her luck with lotto tickets.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son, Michael Oczkowski; brothers, Valentine, Andrew, Edward and John Oczkowski; and sisters, Wanda Bridiskus, Genevieve Goux, Helen Poruznick, and Florence Simmon s. Frances is survived by her devoted son, John Oczkowski, of Wallingford; cherished daughter, Linda Sanzo of Seymour; beloved grandchildren John Oczkowski, Jr. and his wife Kristine of Seymour, Nicole Oczkowski of Branford, Andrew Oczkowski and Megin Oczkowski both of East Haven and Robin Veilleux; cherished great-grandchildren Michael Sanzo, Paul and Brian Veilleux, Matthew and Bethany Oczkowski.

Funeral Services will be held at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour on Thursday May 22 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning beginning at 9:00am.

Ellen Dorothy (Pedersen) Neubaum

Mrs. Ellen Dorothy (Pedersen) Neubaum, age 68, beloved wife of James T. Neubaum, of Lakeland, Florida and formerly of Seymour, CT, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 9, 1945 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Egedius and Gladys Pedersen of Seymour.

She was a Hillsborough County Court Clerk and retired after 18 years and a member of the North Lakeland Presbyterian Church.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend taken from this life far too early. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, and she loved to read.

Ellen was sent up to God after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, James T. Neubaum; sons James M. Neubaum and wife Jamie Lyesa of Plant City, FL and Brian M. Neubaum and wife Jodi of Oxford, CT; daughters, Rebecca A. Neubaum and future son in law Mark Petroulakis of Lakeland, FL; brother, John Pedersen of Naugatuck, CT; sister, Gay Farrow of Columbus, GA; loving grandchildren, Loran A. Neubaum, Olivia N. Neubaum, Alexander J. Provencher, Zachary E. Neubaum, Kaitlyn Sparks, Kati Barbieri, Jami Barbieri; and various loving friends, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The visitation will be Saturday, May 24 from 10-11 AM at the North Lakeland Presbyterian Church, Lakeland, FL and funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church.
