Mary Rose Boyko, 86, of Shelton, formerly of Ansonia, wife of the late Joseph Boyko, died April 3, in the Griffin Hospital, Derby.
daughter of the late Patrick and and Elizabeth (Lockwood) Sweeney, she was born May 3, 1927, in Sandy Hook and was a resident of Ansonia and Shelton for most of her life.
She was employed for many years at the former Bradley’s in Shelton and the former Evening Sentinel in Ansonia. Mary was also a member of the Shelton Senior Citizen Center.
She is the beloved mother of Joseph Boyko and his wife Judy, and Eileen Jagodnik and her husband John. She is the cherished grandmother of Michelle Rivera and her husband Louis, Joseph Boyko and his wife Emily, Jennifer Jagodnik, John Jagodnik, and his wife Suzanne, and Christopher Frulla and his wife Melissa and loving great grandmother of Ashley, Alexis, Nicole, Victoria, and Connor.
Friends may greet her family on Monday from 10 am to 11 am in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Her funeral service will be held at 11an in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Derby.
