George W. Boath Sr., 82, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2013, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Bennard Boath.
Mr. Boath was born in Ansonia on October 3, 1931, son of the late George and Janet Smith Boath.
A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed at the Farrell Corporation in Ansonia for 43 years, retiring as the maintenance director in 1995. A proud veteran, he honorably served during the Korean Campaign in the U.S. Air Force.
George could fix anything and enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching football, and spending time with his cherished grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by two loving sons, George W. Boath Jr. (Mary Ellen) of Ansonia and Matthew S. Boath (Kimberley) of Milford, five grandchildren, Nikki-Lynn Boath, Riley E. Boath, Kelsey B. Castellon, Cassidy J. Boath and Matthew S. Boath Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Jill Ann Boath and a brother, John A. Boath.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 11, 2013, from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 235 Prindle Avenue in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Air Force military honors will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
