Elizabeth (Betsy) J. Kyle, a longtime Ansonia resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March, 4th.
Daughter of late Lillian (Platz) and Harold H. Kyle, she was born on February 8, 1945. Betsy just celebrated her 70th birthday.
Betsy was a graduate of Ansonia High School and Bay Path University. She enjoyed a 40 plus year career with the State of CT at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, retiring in 2009.
Betsy was enjoying her retirement volunteering at Griffin Hospital, Shelton Senior Center and DJ’g online at Maddhouse Radio. Betsy was also a vital and active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd and was a licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister.
Betsy leaves a sister, Edith Templin and her husband, Chuck of Burlington, VT, and two nephews, Jack Templin, his wife Jennifer Trayner and their daughter, Ada and Chris Templin, his wife Naomi Shulman and their two girls, Lila and Stella. She is also survived by three first cousins, Peggy Dufresne, Bill Platz and Marion Kaiser and their families. Betsy leaves behind many friends and colleagues and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service was held on Sunday, March 8th at 2:00 PM at The Church of the Good Shepherd at 680 Racebrook Rd in Orange with a reception following. Per Betsy’s wishes, her ashes will be scattered in the Memorial Garden at her beloved Silver Bay on Lake George in New York.
