Laura Tucker, 88, of Ansonia, wife of the late Percy Tucker, peacefully departed this life on January 10, 2016. She fought a good fight and kept the faith.
She was born March 17, 1927 in Charlotte, N.C., daughter of the late John & Angeline Evans Williams.
She worked as housekeeping supervisor at Hewitt Memorial Hospital in Shelton and was a 55 year member of Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia.
She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother of 4 generations. She loved to study the word of God and was active in many church activities, until being limited by declining health.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Barbara Lancaster & Sadie Smith, brother Sydney Jerome Williams, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren & great great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 3 children, Carroll Wayne, John Wesely & Furman Richardson, sisters Amanda, Ella Mae, Mamie & Annie and 2 grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 10:00 a.m. from The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
